Cobb County runs no trash pickup in East Cobb; 18 permitted private haulers do. Transfer station, glass drop-off and the Oct. 17 hazardous waste day.
Last checked Oct. 5, 2026. This page is updated when Cobb County changes its hauler list or disposal rules. Facts come from Cobb County’s garbage collection page and waste disposal page.
East Cobb is unincorporated, so there is no city trash service. Cobb County’s Sustainability, Waste and Beautification Department says it does not provide trash collection in unincorporated Cobb. Households hire a private hauler, often through their homeowners association. The county permits the haulers but has no say over their prices, pickup days or customer service.

Pickup days, holidays and bulk pickup
Because each hauler sets its own route, there is no single East Cobb pickup day or holiday schedule. Your hauler’s invoice, website or HOA newsletter has your day, the holidays it skips and its bulk pickup rules. The county says any dispute over service has to be worked out between the resident and the hauler.
The county code requires haulers to offer recycling, and Keep Cobb Beautiful tells residents to ask their hauler to add curbside recycling.

Recycling drop-off and glass
Cobb County closed its recycling drop spots at 2905 Library Lane, 3330 Sandy Plains Road and 4400 Lower Roswell Road, citing a shortage of haulers and misuse of the sites. The county’s drop-off list now shows no site in commission districts 2 or 3, which cover East Cobb.
The main drop-off is WestRock, 1775 County Services Parkway, Marietta, 678-403-3900. It takes paper, clean plastics 1 to 7, aluminum, steel and tin cans, cartons and flattened cardboard. It does not take trash, foam, grocery bags, electronics or furniture. WestRock also takes glass bottles and jars; the county page lists glass hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Window glass, drinking glasses, Pyrex and light bulbs go to the transfer station instead.
The drop-off is closed Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 and 27, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Dec. 24 and 25.
